Owing to the demanding nature this course all entrants must pre-qualify by earning a Warrant of Wildness
What to expect
While not as daunting as the V5000 course, the V3000 still represents an epic challenge that takes you into glorious Otago backcountry. It is particularly suited to those who prefer fast, flowing trail over steep mountainous terrain. That's not to say there isn't a good smattering of the latter - hey, this is The WILD after all, but if you're an ultra runner that likes to really stretch their legs then this could be the one for you.
